I have wireless, aside from the RFI that they don't want to address; This in the full knowledge and admission that there is no way that the equipment complies with any regulations I know of, or are being enforced, if your big business.
Fantastic speed it took nearly 30 minutes to download 27 Meg last night near midnight. We really have been sold a Pup. Perhaps we need to change NBN to "PIP" (Pig in a Poke) to truly reflect what we have be supplied with?

Planned availability: Jan-Mar 2019*.
We're continuing to upgrade the nbn™ HFC network in your area. Please check back periodically for updates on when your premises will be ready to connect.
Planned technology: nbn™ Hybrid Fibre Coaxial (HFC)*
Telstra shops can get more info than we can. They told me the connection is out of order, which is no surprise considering the job's only half done.
I'm on a corner, and of course NBN uses one address and Telstra uses the other.
According to Telstra, the other address has ADSL, which is correct. The NBN site doesn't even allow me to enter that address.
Originally it was planned to cut off the copper next month, hopefully that doesn't happen.

Given the circumstances, I'd be rattling a few cages about that right now. I have read of people being automatically cut off (due to the 18 month timeout) before the NBN connection has been properly commissioned and having a hell of time trying to get a service connected while being bounced between Telstra and NBN Co, with both pointing the finger at each other.

"---with both pointing the finger at each other."
Two years ago we made an enquiry about NBN wireless because we were told our rural street was about to have its landlines shut down.
I stress the word 'enquiry', nothing signed or promised by us or "them". We said we would consider wireless and get back to them.
Three days later we have a parcel in the mail. Wireless equipment from NBN. A contractor rolls up to conduct a field strength survey.
Two days later another parcel. We rang Telstra and told them we did not agree to wireless. Not our problem now, you have to ring this number, and we did. It was the damn installer, a contractor. We told him we did not want wireless, he gave a number to ring. We rang the
number and were told we had to ring Telstra to cancel the job. We did not agree to the job, too bad, talk to Telstra, not us.
Three weeks later, and many phone calls to Telstra and NBN (by that time I made it very clear to the installer that he was not getting the
job) we get a call from Telstra telling us to kindly send back all the parcels to their respective senders.
I lost my temper and told them I did not order the damn things. They came in the mail and I intend to pull them apart and grab whatever
I can use out of them.
The kerfuffle continued, my wife took over the negotiations. A courier arrived (she thought it was a courier, I reckon it was an installer)
picked up all the parcels (three items) and we thought that was the end.
Next phone bill we get is all cocked up, bills for non-existent services, etc. etc.
Another week later and plenty of calls to Telstra it is finally sorted. The poor lady on the other end of the phone was struggling to keep
her composure as my wife scorched her ears (a most horrible torture) for almost forty minutes.
There is something fundamentally wrong here, someone needs to take full responsibillity and FIX IT!!!
Now, who was the minister who started this crap----?

Now, who was the minister who started this crap----?
The bloke who received his orders on the back of an envelope, Senator Stephen CONroy.

You can have fun. There was a guy from NBN on the local ABC here a few days ago. After proving he was a trained parrot, he mentioned "the responsible Minister": As we have seen no minister accept any responsibility, I just had to ring in & point out that "responsible Minister" was an Oxymoron.

A final testimony to this near-criminal third world behaviour;
Two years later our landlines are still intact. They did NOT shut down, and we are doing very well with them.
Keep right away from us NBN. (or is it Telstra)

The NBN box is now bolted to my wall, tick!
I checked that web site predictor thing as the last letter from somebody said the NBN would be connected later this year.
Well, the predictor now says NEXT year sometime not this year sometime.
I wont last that long.
And the Telstra Wireless 4G internet works fine so why do we need the NBN?
Fred.

I checked that web site predictor
About the only time that screen is correct is when the status changes to something like this:
"Your premises has been connected via nbn™ Fibre to the node (FTTN) technology.
Disconnection information for this address*:
The disconnection process for the old phone and internet network in this area is scheduled to begin on Feb 2019."
In my experience, predicted connection dates are way off.

The other day I received a letter from NBN Co. "Inspection and maintenance notice"
"We need to inspect your external telecommuncation equipment. Our construction partner intends to conduct relevant activities at the property between 20 September 2018 and 12 February 2019."
They can't get closer than 6 months? I wonder if they'll notice that half the installation is missing because it was never there.
This whole thing is a joke that never ends.

Yep, and a hugely expensive one, too.

I response to 4G (fourth go). It depends on where you are as to how effective any of the G's are. Since the inception of digital Telstra has never been able to deliver an effective, or reliable signal here. The 3G dongle for Internet needed an antenna to get a workable signal & because of the ludicrous price they wanted for an antenna, I bought a co-linear elsewhere.
4G here is absolutely hopeless, so the phone is locked to 3G which is not much better. OPTUS has built a new mobile near me, that may be a better option, Telstra appears to be totally disinterested in customer service. That is also, as far as I am concerned also reflected in their "auto-moronic phone answering machine. Whatever happened to 1 for billing; 2 for faults .... 5 to move to another carrier.

Marc, your experience is identical to mine at the camping ground I use at Hill End, NSW - an old goldrush town. Optus comes in good enough to stream the footy, YouTube, etc whilst Telstra is non-existent unless you get in the car and drive up to Bald Hill, one of the town's lookouts. Vodafone (bought out this week by TPG) is also non-existent to the same degree.
The NPWS has recently installed a 'smart antenna' at the main camping ground (there's two grounds at Hill End) and this brings in Telstra but smart antennas only bring in 3G. It's better than nothing but 4G would be better since it's been around for nearly 10 years. It's shame because on a good night, 4G is about twice as fast as ADSL.

Sometimes I think it might be useful for revenue sources to get a penalty discount based on dropouts & the inability to provide a reliable service and a bigger penalty for charging in general, for a service that they cannot, or are unwilling to provide. Especially when they have not been able to deliver in over two decades.
