Tim

"I do know David L formerly of 2YOUFM."

It was David M who looked after the techy things who we knew from there.

Hi Carl,

it was great to catch you up Carl.

Hi Graham,

Yep he did look after the techy things a lot. Kept the place going in a big way.

Last I heard David was in Central NSW out near Dubbo somewhere.

all the best

Tim

Hi Guys,

Just off air at present as I'm relocating the shortwave site to Gunnedah and a nice flat area.

I'm also working on getting 1647kHz on air in Tamworth.

Anyone would like more info please call me on 0455 488 331

best regards

Tim Gaynor

Had a listen to 1647, it is a very noisy channel, and there's a faint station there with a woman's voice, but the noise prevented me from working out what she was saying. I just did a search, and it looks like it might be 2ME (Arabic radio) in Brisbane. I think the likelyhood of hearing your station will be very low unless you're planning on using a lot of power.

Hopefully your new location for shortwave will work out better. 2NZ (1188) at Gunnedah Inverell is an excellent performer, and stronger than the Sydney commercial stations at night. If your station works half as well it will be easy to hear.

As for the station planned for 5045... nothing has been detected. I guess it was cancelled.

2NZ is Inverell which is Further North then Tamworth. You may be thinking of 2MO.

Uhh.. yeah I made a mistake. It is 2NZ Inverell on 1188. (not Gunnedah).

Thanks for all the comments.

The 3210 kHz (Halls Creek NSW) vertical has been tuned to how it should be.Reports welcomed .

1647kHz should be on tomorrow Saturday barring any problems like rain. Reports welcomed.

Will let you know if it is on air.

Hi Robbert ,

1647kHz also has a faint vision signal from elsewhere. Havn't heard the Brisbane signal but I thought they were on 1638 as well. Maybe it was changed.

In any case will report when it's on air .

Many thanks

Tim, Normally I go out to the location I use for listening on a Monday afternoon, however I'll go on Sunday instead (28th), so that I know you'll be on air.

I'll bring back reception reports (if any) on Tuesday afternoon (30th). Wish me luck!

Here is my report...

On Saturday night I went shopping and put the car radio onto 1647. Nothing heard.

On Sunday Night I listened to 3210, nothing heard. In the evening there was a faint station on 3215. At around 11:30pm the faintest carrier was heard on 3210, fading in and out. This was it.

1647 provided a station, and by 11:30 it was strong enough to get over the hash. It broadcast religious programs, as "Lord Jesus Christ" was heard a few times. I think I heard them say "Brisbane" at about 11:45. There wasn't any co-channel interference.

On Monday night had another listen to 1647, and a women's voice could barely be heard.

So, as far as Unique Radio goes, a total blank.

Now of course your only mission is to cover your target area, (whatever that may be), but it would have been nice to hear something.

Robbert. We had issues with antenna tuning on the weekend, so 1647 is not on air yet.

Hi Robbert,

so you won't hear 1647 as yet because it's not on air.

3210 never ever has provided good reception in Sydney , unfortunately, due to topography between the transmitter site and Sydney.
I get better reports from Brisbane & Central West NSW

Just out of interest sake, what sort of equipment were you using and antenna?

3215 would have been WWCR Nashville Tennesee USA.

Yes would be nice to have a higher powered set up too but maybe one day I'll win lotto too!

Thanks for your report , I appreciate all reports.

See post #28.

Turns out I've heard that station on 4840 and 5935. 4840 gets severe interference from the ABC (see below), while 5935 pushes a good signal in the afternoon and evening.

one day I'll win lotto too

Then you'll be able to do as well as ABC radio at Alice Springs on 4835. I don't know what power they run, but at night they easily push 9+20db. Something to aspire to !
