Hello all
Im trying to build up my DVD collection for films and TV shows from the 40s 50s 60s for playing on vintage televisions and having vintage TV nights on vintage tellies
What I normally do is search youtube for a trailer and if it looks good or I remember it ,, than go to ebay and buy it.
But its impossible for me to know all the old movies or shows so perhaps you guys can drop some names here of movies or TV shows you thought were good.
Im only looking for 40s 50s 60s Era.
It can be a movie or a show about anything.
Hmm, best leave out those 1950s porn movies I might see someone I know!
Thanks all
Pete

How about one from the USA, The Twilight Zone, and one from the UK, Steptoe and Son.

I have nearly 1,000 DVDs, most of which are old movies. Too many to list!
If it's a classic 'noir' of the 40s or early 50s, then I probably have it (often a Region 1 DVD direct from the USA).
I also have some TV shows, such as 'Perry Mason', 'Phil Silvers' (Sgt Bilko) and even 'Leave it to Beaver' (Season 1).
I like the old cliff-hanger serials that were shown in the cinemas prior to the feature in my parents' day and which I saw on TV as a kid. I have 'Batman and Robin' (1949) which features the evil Wizard
And speaking of wizards, an old favourite of mine from US TV and shown here in the late 1960s 'Watch Mr Wizard' (1951-1965).
... again mostly on Region 1 discs and purchased direct from the USA.
