I have recently got this from a House clearing sale, It's all complete except for the front door & stand!!, I have never seen 1 in a metal case though!!, so this one's gotta be a rare model, even has a pretty pink surround!, Currently halfway through the restoration process, I just can't get EHT to the CRT anode!

That's unusual! I've seen the usual timber models but not a metal cased one that's that early.

Is the chassis definitely a W101A? That would make it a 1956 model. Pye TV's are really hard to figure out!

Do you have some better pictures of it? I'm interested in seeing some more about this set.

It's definitely a beautiful set and an awesome find! It reminds me of the GE portables you find in America, which came in a range of metal cabinet colours.

I remember seeing the set with a timber cabinet using the W-101A chassis on here a while back.

Good luck on the restoration Larry!

Hang on a tic. I found this online Larry. It's the same set as yours. It's from 1958 apparently.

Just an update on this set, I have done a cosmetic restoration on the chassis and with all dirt & surface rust removed, it looks great, I am still yet to get a picture out of this. Still got a dull raster with no video signal!
