I will acquiring one of these 3 in 1 TV Radiograms soon.
I have been after one for awhile
Ian Robertson has told me it is a PU series Chassis
Would anyone have an operating instructions booklet for it and a service manual ?
And also any general information anyone has about them.
Thanks
Steve

Yes Stephen, like most of those it's a teak finish.
You should be able to bring it up nicely with just teak oil.

Hi Steve,
If it is a oil finish, meaning a oil rubbed finish they are easy to repair and colour match.
The top looks like it would need a strip though.
Rubbing oil Into it,, wont fix it as the damage is through the stain and finish on the top so you would do the complete top not just the middle part .
Pete
Note the damage is across the grain , the opposite direction too the grain so to fix this you may need to take the finish off ,sand the damage out In the direction of the grain then stain it and then oil it.
Oils are nice to work with and are safe to handle etc etc .....

Hi Pete
We will be able to get a closer look at it next week, it arrives Thursday 13th Feb.
I'm getting it delivered into a storage unit near Albury airport as I don't currently have any room for it. 😂
Should be a bit of fun if I have to strip and sand the top of the cabinet.
Looking forward to it.

Haha,
Actually I missed Sydney when I lived there!
In other words I missed the old Sydney which is long gone ....
Now its more like a ostentatious American city of Mall culture. Lost its character and charm ! I guess they sold it off ,
But old Sydney years ago was a great place to be .....
I will miss the people yep .

Sydney is a great place to visit - harbour, beaches, Power House Museum (madness to shift it to Parramatta) and other cultural sites, but otherwise it represents a geographical obstacle to be got skirted. This has been partially solved from my point of view byM7/M2, but even there careful timing is needed to avoid congestion. The pile-up of semis and B-doubles waiting to turn onto the M2 going south is diabolical - but that hopefully will be solved by the freeway extension from the M1 to the M2
Sydney's problem is that it seems to have just happened, whereas Melbourne was planned. Sydney's harbour splitting it in two, together with rougher terrain haven't helped, meaning that the road system developed in conjunction with many local councils, is irregular. Melbourne had more central planning together with largely flatter terrain, and no harbour splitting it in two. But Melbourne have stuffed it up too, closing one of their rail circle routes. But still Melbourne is outgrowing Sydney and will pass it in size before long.
While Melbourne is a more livable city with better public transport, important when you get older, Sydney is still a more interesting place to be in, once you have got to where you want to go, because of the harbor and geography. What makes it harder to get around, makes it more interesting.

I'm 48 and I don't ever remember Sydney being charming in my lifetime, though is was certainly quieter and there was less need to rush everywhere as people find so necessary now. It is amazing that someone who is walking at normal pace finds it necessary to walk at double pace then push and shove their way onto the underground railway stations and onto trains the way they do. It's the classic case of Goofy morphing into Mr Walker. Each 8-car Sydney train holds 2,000 passengers. There's no need to behave like a moron when it's time to get on board.
Sydney was a better place when it only had 3 million people. In the heat of summer, there were no qualms about leaving windows wide open at night to let the southerly busters in. There's now 5.2 million and we yearn for the completion of WestConnex and the rail lines under construction.
I don't find Melbourne more "liveable". Its motorways don't take you where you want to go and most of Melbourne's high street precincts are obstructed by tram lines and 40km/h speed limits. The locals are used to these things but frustrate people like me who are more accustomed to trams travelling on reservations and 60 or 70km/h speed limits.
One thing that Melbourne does do better than Sydney is the radio auctions. I will hit Melbourne at least three times a year to try and grab another radio. I stay at a motel in Fawkner because it allows me a quick getaway on the Sunday morning and I can be back in Steak and Kidney before dark. But to get to Ashburton or Mulgrave is a big problem if I don't go via the ring road. Maybe there's a quicker way that doesn't frustrate the driver but I certainly don't know of it and I generally don't like using rat runs in places I am not familiar with.

Probably the best place I ever lived while In Sydney was drummoyne, it was great there years ago , 10 minutes to the city, close to glebe , newtown. The houses were old world.
There was water, near by , public transport.
Close to the markets . It was a very nice place to live years ago but now your looking at 2m!!

Pete,
You would no doubt remember the big old antique shop on Victoria Road where Rotten Ronnies now is (next door to Franklins). Places like that used to be more exciting than being in the pub.

Brad, no I can't remember it,but I'm pretty tired tonight.
There were a few in that area in those days ,
But the best was run by a friend of mine who many of you would know .
Mike, who ran the vintage toy shop on darling street Rozelle, ! I still see him. He runs a stall at blacktown markets. H I have not seen him for about a year now because I don't go to blacktown .years ago his shop was great.. I'm sure you know mike

Melbourne at the moment is suffering from a bad case of roadworks.
In the long run they will definitely improve things but at the moment there are multiple road closures and 40KMH limits all over the place causing peak hour madness.
What does annoy me is when you come up to road works and are then trapped.
If a sign was placed back where you could take an alternative route the jams and blood pressure would be reduced somewhat.
Vic Roads will say "you should check the website" but to do this before every trip is tedious.
The best place I've been WRT traffic is Perth by far. Lots of multi lane freeways and little congestion in the CBD.
