That would be "Precedent".
AW Jackson Industries
The Crescent
Annandale.
The very last B&W TV production in 1973 (after Philips buyout) used Astor chassis.
Cheap but well designed and built TVs. Quite good performers and very reliable.

Hello , hmmm spelling was always one of my many bad points ,,, I had one years ago and it was a 3 in 1 , it was a very early 60s model , I recently bought a 60s TV 3 in one , and the only badge on it is "" consol super delux , I will pick it up on the week end and be able to have a better look at it , but I though it might be a Precedent ,, thank you pete

They must have sold 100,000 or so of that model, in production for 10 years with small changes. They were everywhere. Cabinet is Marviplate - PVC coated metal.
That's an early one, I can tell from the channel knob with the FT knob in the middle. Astor tuner prior to the introduction of set-and-forget tuning. The vision IF is on a pluggable PCB. All of these sets used the 23HP4B bonded CRT.
I'm not surprised it's still a runner. No paper caps by this stage, Jackson's were one of the first manufacturers to phase out paper caps (although they still used them for a while in non-critical locations) and the chassis had been around long enough to be thoroughly debugged. It uses a relatively low HT voltage and runs cool, a very simple, understressed design. Chassis flips back by releasing two wire clips on each side - not obvious..
You shouldn't have to do much to this TV to bring it up to full spec. If the vertical linearity is poor, replace the cathode bypass electrolytic on the vertical output stage - 6BM8 just below the EHT cage. Noisy pots respond to a bit of CRC. Clean the tuner contacts. Etc!

Hello Ian, Thanks for all your help with info on this one. I'm very happy with it and for $60 in working condition is great , All it needs is a bit of clean up and detail. The only thing that is not working is I'm only getting very low sound from the Record player. Radio is nice and loud. It may just need a new needle and head.
I have lots of old TVs from the 50s and 60s but I have been after one of these for awhile. But every time they came up for sale they were in VIC or SA and I live in Dee Why!! Anyway I have one now and it will stay with me until the relos sell off all the stuff when I snuff it!
>>>>>>>>>>>>>> many thanks, Pete.

Pete, the low sound from the record player may be a dud crystal cartridge. Over time the crystal absorbs water from the air and cracks up. Since working crystal carts are hard to find now, you might have to use a high-output ceramic cart instead.

That brings back memories. I pulled one of these apart as a kid of about ten. One of the anode bypass capacitors in the radiogram section had shorted causing the rectifier to short and the mains transformer to incinerate. It was a blackened mess and the cabinet above it was charred to black. Strangely the output transformer survived intact. I rebuilt the radiogram section just as a stereo amplifier and used it for many years. One thing I remember about the TV chassis was that the component leads were not bent around the lugs as was usual, making it very easy to pull it apart. I probably still have some of the components in my parts drawers.
One question, does the model 263 designation refer to the TV chassis or the whole unit? There is a circuit for a 263 in the TV Service Handbook but it only shows a TV chassis with no indication that it is part of a combo.
Cheers.

I may have a booster cap for this because I pulled a 263 apart a few years ago. What's the value and voltage?
I hate gear with the component leads tied in knots around the solder lugs. Yay for Precedent, boo to Astor!
