Hello all,
I note from an old post (dated 14 November 2009!) that "Satelliteman" has one of these.
I would be extremely grateful for a copy if possible.
I am currently restoring a very nice one of these beasts, but there has been much butchering before me and as it has the old side contact valves and 4 volt heaters, I really need a road map to get me home please.
My gratitude will be immense...
Regards to all.
Noel

Hi.

Is your Philips a local Kiwi set or European?

I know some of the NZ Philips from the late 1930's used the same or similar chassis to Australian ones, albeit with different model numbers. Having side contact or P-base valves would put its vintage in the late 1930's.

Can you send us a few snaps of your radio + the valve line-up. Also, can you provide the link to the November 2009 post.

Cheers.

Update.

I'm not sure if this helps, but if you search on "Philips 636" in the Radiomuseum database, there are numerous hits for model 636 in1933/34, all with photos and schematics.

Anybody can look at the photos, but to need to be a Radiomuseum member to be able to download schematics.

There are one or two members on here.

Hi,
I have only just got back into circulation after a lengthy spell away, for reasons I won't go in to!
I feel so ungrateful for not acknowledging the responses to my post and I sincerely apologise for this.
That particular project is long gone and now that I'm back in the workshop I am working on an Aussie Airzone with a 511 chassis.
I hope to post some "befores" and "afters", after...
Cheerio for now
