Ive just had an old workshop friend ( in his late 50's ) drop off his dads house radio of his era .
Its a Philips Radioplayer with a type P626 chassis .
It looks like a tombstyle cabinet to me ..but I'm not full on radio collector ..so I wont quote stuff I'm not sure on .

Its been repaired before - as it has one of the original sockets replaced to Octal style . A couple of caps have been replaced also .
I notice one wire thats come adrift from somewhere - and although I think I can be sure of where its come from , id really like to get a look at some schematics.

I am an Industrial Electrician , and have built my own tube amps before - so dont worry about me frying myself up - I'm well aware of the dangers on old sets . This one has no earth via powercable ....its relying on the chassis earth to outside ground stake.
I have taken some photos of the ole girl ...so it would be good to participate in some photo sharing and cleanup progress .

Anyway - my first real post - thanks , and I hope someone can assist me on finding some diagrams for the chassis . Cheers Stu

Hi Stu,
You are correct,Philips used the term Radioplayer in the '30s.I
have the P636 circuit here but not the P626.These sets were
Philips versions of Columbus (Radio Corp) models. It seems Philips
were unable to import at this time and went to Radio Corp to fill
a gap.?

Ive since been offered a copy of the schematic - Lifes good !
PS - the set works beautifully now /Stu
