I will be at the RadioFest. I haven't planned anything yet though. I always leave planning trips to the last minute so I don't meet with any obstacles.

Robbert ya missed out on a good deal lol. Lots of old chassis here full of valves. One has a 2A5 on it.
I ended up buying a Toshiba radio with 3 shortwave bands. For $10 it really performs.
Was listening to New Zealand and America last night. Nearly crystal clear.

At the RadioFest auction today I won Lot 61, an AWA R27 Radiolette, my first one of these in working order and I am currently in my motel room eating tea whilst listening to the sad news that Ron Barassi has passed away. For those who don't know of Ron, he was pretty much the centre of attention in Australian Rules Football circles for decade upon decade and his passing has created somewhat of a vacuum down here in Melbourne, where Ron was highly regarded.
This is the only radio I managed to acquire from the Fest however one is certainly better than none.
Below are photos of my acquisition and a shot of the sales hall, which opens to the general public tomorrow (Sunday, 17th September). For those who aren't club members but still would like to participate - here is your chance. The details are at https://hrsa.org.au/ and follow the RadioFest link.

Nice score Brad, The whole range of timber models around this chassis type are beautiful including the AGE radios. This one with the round dial is my favourite. Looks in good condition. The push button Tasma 052 looked an interesting radio. I purposely avoided the auction but did have a look around in the afternoon.

TC: did you buy that photographed Kriesler 11-99? If so, I'll ask some details about it.

Dave,
I once saw an R27 rebadged as an AGE - it'd have been a very rare beast. The others I've seen, including three that I have are based on the later R29 with the square dial. I have a couple of other R27s but one has been strangled with more coats of paint than you'll find on the Sydney Harbour Bridge and the other is incomplete due to a damaged but repairable cabinet.
I do have the 'set' comprising an R24 Radiolette and its GE equivalent, if memory serves me correctly, a GE155 but I will check on that tonight and update if necessary.

Yes Brad I have a round dial AGE but not sure on the model number. I bought a R27 to go with it but it’s in a Sorry state and will need a lot of work to clean it up and make it presentable. Photo sent to Brad.

I didn't know they made a AGE model until I saw one go off on Ebay about four or five years ago. It is still the only one I've seen. Unless you picked that one up, at least we can say there's a minimum of two out there.
