The maintenance work set out below has been completed.

Over the last weekend one of the network switches that connect the web server hosting this (and other) websites kicked the bucket and whilst this hasn't disabled access to the hosted websites it requires replacement.

New equipment has been purchased and I've decided that, due to the age of the switches for both connections, they will both be replaced this Saturday between 09:00 and 11:00. This will hopefully ensure that we do not have a simultaneous failure which would take the host server offline.

Between now and the Christmas break other equipment will be replaced too, ensuring a high level of system reliability for the next two to three years. This will include replacement of the UPS and the host server itself. Further announcements will follow when these other items become scheduled for replacement.
