Hard to know if that video is a prank or not, although if you watch the 1940 vintage 'training' films of the time (such as the one I posted) they emphasise that you have to take the dial all the way around to the stop for each number.

I think in general that's the problem with the internet now. Its very hard to know the truth from fiction or prank from reality.
Its also a problem in Trade and Technical forums. I use to be apart of many wood finishing forums and there I can plainly see the wrong information being given ,Because its a topic I know very well.
