Getting a bigger garage/workshop as a result?

Not in the short term but down the track, yes.

Found some dual-wave Calstan/Zenith circuits in the AORSM's with the same valve line-up as what the Beam may have. What was interesting is that one there, a model 544C/PT, has all the same valves + a magic-eye. Could this be a magic-eye version of a 544? Also Calstan/Zenith did make generic radiograms for retailers to put there own brand on. This 544C/PT is in volume 14 of the AORSM, which is one volume I do not have.

One way of dating the radio is from the dial. Sometimes it will be of the style of a particular manufacturer & carry the same numbering system. Also look for 3NE at 1600kHz. It did not start transmitting until 1954, so very few sets prior to that had provision for it.

I would not be too hasty on the valve line up. These need to be read as AWA & others tended to use a specific range of valves & HMV 6M8 as output & 6AN7 (9pin) was about.

Sometimes the ARTS&P label will indicate who made it. The 5 in the LH top of that label indicates the number of valves.

Transformer appears to be "Ferguson". Tuning gang the standard Stromberg Carlson style used by nearly everyone at one point or another.

What parts are in the pan may occasionally help.

The stations on this radiogram go up to 2CN, Canberra, which opened 21-01-1953.

I remember now where I saw these chassis'. About 20 years ago I went to look at some brand new chassis' in boxes at Lamberti's in North Melbourne. They were intended for some locally built radiogram cabinets. This didn't eventuate, and they ended up gathering dust for nearly 40 years. The chassis' were the same as the subject of this thread except these had magic-eyes. Whilst I still can't come up with a brand I do remember the boxes having a Sydney address on them. Coming from Sydney would put them a tad closer to the Calstan/Zenith possibility. I think Nostalgic Wireless ended up buying these chassis'.

Thanks heaps everybody for the great help. Apologies for being away, the wood polishing consumed all my time.

Soon, I will upload some photos after finishing the restoration.

Cheers and thanks again
