Image Link I have had this TV for a while now, Here is the full story, I was going to the dump one day to offload some 90's crap stereo that had died, and I saw this wood thing in the electronics bin, and I said "could it be a HMV TV?" and I found out that it was! It was on its side and I had to move it out and put it in the back of my carer's car, and we went home and assessed the set, it seemed pretty clean inside though the electrolytics were huge! and I turned it on, Nothing happened so basically it was dead, It is currently being restored by a mate of mine, who says the tube is very bright for a 1960's valve black and white set, and he said he'd never seen one before so he is working on it as we speak, so yeah there's the story, and I was shocked that this was thrown out, before we left the dump I had bought legs for the set, which I have in my drawer full of TV parts, so yeah there it goes, cheers and someone can document it please? I think it is 1 of 1000 made?

The Trent went from 1970 to 72. There should be a date year stamped inside the cabinet. Hope that was of help. I'm a big HMV collector.

It would be good to compare notes sometime. I have a few HMV TV's myself and I'm on the lookout for enough information to produce a model gallery of HMV TV's sometime. Similar to what I'm doing with the Astor TV's here: http://vintage-radio.com.au/default.asp?f=10&th=3.

I have a couple of the "proper" HMV colour TV's before they were taken over by Rank Arena - NEC. A well regarded TV design at the time from what I've been told.

Is this you?

If not, I think I've just sent a stranger a friend request..! Anyways, I have a small group on Facebook for collectors of vintage televisions - there are a couple of familiar faces from here on there.
