What has gone wrong with it?

Being the newest of your valve TV's it should be the easiest to fix.

It won't turn on, so I've cut the cord off just to be safe, I've tried powering it up before I cut the cord off nd the valves didn't light up

Did you have a look for the model number of the Trent? Easy to see without pulling the TV apart, just look in the square hole in the back that says model number.

Do you have any electrical knowledge? i.e. do you have a multimeter and know how to use it to do resistance checks?

The chassis model is a PU3 V6 , and I do have a multimeter and soldering iron, but I'm taking the TV to my tech on Monday to get it restored and to also get the cord replaced

Glad you found someone to hopefully fix it.

Did you get the model number off the TV or from the circuit diagram?

The diagram does not have the TV model number on it just the chassis number.

Were you able to find the model number?

I'm curious as I don't want it to be forever known as the HMV Trent, model number = "unknown"

I don't know, as I forgot to move it to get the model number, but I think it's a V6 chassis

Can you get the person who's fixing the TV to confirm the model number please.

Memory can be a very unreliable thing, you need to be sure by having looked at the model number. Both PU3 and V6 are chassis types not model numbers so that is why I want you to recheck please.

Thanks.
