Hi All,

I have a Sanyo CTP 8632. I have installed a DSTB & Ch0 modulator. All worked well for a while and now the set has died. It seems to be a power supply issue as the neon indicator also fails to light (have tested neon as working) The 2 200ohm, 20W resistors on the left of the chassis heat up excessively within 10 seconds of applying power. Any help or manuals would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you, Jeff.

Your TV uses the Sanyo 79P chassis.

If you do an internet search for "Sanyo 79P" you should find 1 or more links to places where you can download the manual.

If you run into trouble downloading a manual, post a message here and I'll try and organise a scan of the power supply circuit.

It does sound like a power supply fault. The good news is that the power supply is a straight forward linear regulated supply, not so good is the use of a special Sanyo voltage regulator IC.

Thanks TV Collector,

The 79P is the detail I needed. I have found a manual!
