Come across an HMV model E1A1 17 inch TV at a garage sale. It looks in really good condition in a cabinet with doors on the front and the TV is complete with all knobs etc.The owner said it had been in the garage for over 30 years so no way am I going to plug it in yet. Does anyone know the age of this TV I think it may be one of the first sets sold in Australia?

The E1A1 is part of HMV's 1956 TV model range. It is a very early model and not seen very often now.

Do not be tempted to just plug it in to see if it works. Some parts of this TV are impossible to find replacements for so it needs to be treated with care.
