Hi there,
I have a Pye TV that I would like to get some help identifying and valuing please. I’ll submit photos as per the requested process.
Thanks.

I don't know that much about Pye gear to suggest a model number but as a 10-channel set (no Ch 0, 5A or 11) it would have most likely been made between 1956 and 1961. It is worth either keeping as is or being restored and restoration should occur before the set is plugged in - the cord is not in prime condition.

1959/1960 Pye model W201D. Chassis types: T12-2B (modified TB/200E-B) and T12-4D (model W201D/1)
£204/15/- when first sold. Its current value is whatever anyone is prepared to pay. It is collectable.
You may have to take the back off to find any labels confirming the model/chassis type.

Yes I also make it a T12 from '59
Value depends very much on CRT condition. A bad CRT makes it nearly worthless.
There used to be a link on this site to a CRT testing method I put up using just a multimeter, a 6V / variable power supply, clip leads and a 1k resistor.
It seems to be broken.
But the US site copy is still up:

If you have a multimeter and know how to use it, this (and the feedback about expected results) should give you an answer, without plugging the TV in - which you should NOT do.
Of course, all CRT testers tell lies, but if you get 1 to 3 volts on this method and it comes up quickly inside of 30 to 40 seconds, it's almost certainly a good one.
It would be good to save it.

Thanks so much for your help everyone. I have no experience with this, but I’ll take a look at the link Ian. I saved this from going to the tip - I can’t believe someone would put it out for rubbish collection. It should be preserved, just not really sure what to do with it.

I wish I could say I'll take it, but I currently have 6 consoles in the garage awaiting attention.
If the CRT was known to be good I'd take it anyway!
There are other collectors I could ask, or I could assist you to get it up and running. If you like old movies and TV shows it's great to watch them on a vintage TV, using a digital media box and a modulator.
