This is a really long shot.

Does anyone have a working 12 inch Philips tube that fit the HMV Safari they could sell? Or the whole telly I could gut? The tube model number is TPT-12-11. I'm sure that there are other equivalents out there as well?

It's a fair bit shallower than the more standard 12" CRT tubes from portables of the day.

This is the unit: https://www.radiomuseum.org/r/hismasters_safari_w4_e9_1114_w4.html

Yes I think I might have one of those. It's an AWV, not a Thomas (HMV used Thomas tubes, not Philips) but it's also 110 degree with the thin neck. I believe it came from an AWA P5.

Just a matter of finding it!!

My email is open....

That set was one of the first fully solid state portable TV's back in the 70's.
If memory serves it has a germanium Hor o/p transistor which failed frequently and would be unobtainium now.
The CRT's didn't last very long either.
