Hi Folks.
Does anyone remember the brand Deitron?

There were to my knowledge two video recorders and one video player sold under that brand name. DVR 6158, DVR4773, and DVP 1363P.

There were also three televisions, Models DMQ 1444,
DMQ 2044, and DMQ 2147.

They were sold by numerous retailers in the early 1990's.

I used to do warranty repairs on them but sadly, can't remember what they looked like. Would like to see some photos of them if you have any. I'm told they were made by Daewoo.

Since digital cameras have become the norm, I have taken approximately 34,500 family photos, but have almost nothing before the year 2000.
Likewise of my time in the electronics repair industry I have only two photos.

Wayne.

I don't know if it was the same outfit, but a guy called Leonard Deitch used to have a sort of Dick-Smith/Tandy type company called "Dietron" back in the1970s. As well as parts, he used to sell what was purportedly "audiophile" sound equipment, although I heard it was really pretty run-of-the-mill stuff. I remember seeing his ads in EA and ETI.
It's not hard to get TVs made with your company logo on them. Basically it's a case of "Here's the labelling artwork; give me 10,000 Wah Hing XR1234 TVs"
Precedent was another brand briefly "revived" in that way.
Woolworths used to have rights to the AWA brand for many years. Most of their TVs were the same models that Dick Smith sourced and sold, but with AWA branding.
