The front chassis was damaged during postage . I will attempt to see inside how much damage the TV sustained . probably not worth powering on as it is too dangerous . pity , the p1p is a nice reliable set that used to work for a very long time right up to the analogue switch off in australia. you can see the damage to the front in the pictures .... thanks....

At least the antenna seems to be intact.

I've got a P1 minus valves, but intact, and it was working before the valves were removed. If you feel like a long drive, you can come & get it. You'll need to move the antenna and valves across.

I have no idea if the P1P is different to the P1. The case looks the same, at least.

The difference between the P1 and the P1P is the shape of the CRT.

Just checked. The P1 has an 11 inch "nude" CRT (11LP4) and a plastic safety "glass".

The P1P has a 12" rim-banded CRT (I don't have the part number) with a "squarer" shape, a flatter screen and no scratch-able plastic in front of it.

The plastic front and the CRT "holder" are incompatible between the models unless you also swap the CRT.

The damaged case front looks repairable. Glue, filler, paint. The CRT still holds a vacuum so there's probably no serious damage inside.
