Does anyone have any information or pictures of TV assembly in Penrith.

I had noticed on the back covers of Rank Arena and Panasonic televisions that they were either assembled or manufactured at Penrith N.S.W.

Wayne.

I walked past the old Panasonic complex in Penrith last week after dropping my car at a nearby workshop. There are still a few Panasonic signs around and the building is in use by what I think was an industrial compressor company. It's opposite the Panthers home ground in Station Street.

It's opposite the Panthers home ground in Station Street.

Looking at Google Streetview, I'm guessing you mean 164 Station St?

As for photos of it in operation, there may be some in Electronics Australia, but without a mention in an index of articles, it would be a very long search.

164 Station Street is correct. Until a few years ago it looked as if Panasonic was still operating from there, probably as a warehouse / distribution centre. It is built on a huge block with extensive land around the the building. With talk of a new 30000 seat stadium to replace the Panthers existing home ground and being on the fringe of a busy commercial district right next door to a shopping complex I suspect it won't last long in it's current form.

Hi All.

I am still seeking information regarding the Rank Arena Factory in Penrith N.S.W.

I have two pictures of the factory supplied by one of our members. Hoping that the posting of the pictures will flush out more information.

Thanks.

Wayne.
