Hello to anyone reading my post,

I am a new member to this forum and have been collecting and restoring vintage radios for many years. I used to collect and repair old B&W TV's back in the late 1970's / early 1980's, but abandoned this when I got married in 1983 as could not take them with me and my mum said they could not remain at her place, sadly they all went to the DUMP Sad

I have recently been given some 1960's TV service data/manuals and amongst them was one for a Healing model 700 & 701 of 1964 Shock This model is the one my family had when I was growing up and is of sentimental interest to me. I have also managed to find a couple of advertisements for the set I'm keen to obtain, it's a Healing "Capitol" 23 Console - model 701 of 1964. My family's set died back in 1975 due to O/C EHT transformer, just in time for my mum to buy a colour TV (not that she had much choice).

I'd love to obtain one of these sets again or even one of the other sets in the 700/701 chassis series. I have pictures of these and adverts if anyone thinks they may be able to assist me. I'll see if I can have them posted with this wanted request.

Any assistance for the above would be gladly accepted Smile

Cheers, Barry.

Healing sets turn up now again on the various auction sites. Most sets are located in Victoria as the NSW market was saturated with the local brands so the interstate "outsiders" didn't achieve much in the way of market penetration.

Thanks for the information, I'd kind of expected that to be the case as have seen stacks of the the other brands like HMV, AWA, Kriesler & Pye, especially back in the 1970's when they were thrown out by the thousands just after colour came in. Healing sets must have been less represented up here in the Newcastle/Lake Macquarie, NSW area. I'll still keep looking though, hopefully there's some out there.

Cheers,

Barry.

Healings might have been more reliable but not the best picture as I compared our Healing 'Colourado' (~1963?) to friends' sets like Astor (better blacks - DC restoration?) and Pye, HMV (more detail, less I.F. phase shift smear, better video peaking)

QUOTE: picture of "Colourado"?

Sorry only had it as a kid. It was a 23" basic design with spindle legs, attractive cream with yellow accent plastic escutcheon (imported?), very narrow Rola speaker driven by 6AQ5, tone control at back.

Finally acquired two sets, a Capitol and a Waldorf, see attached photos. Would still like to find a Philadelphia three in one set (TV Radiogram) in this model.

Regards,

Barry.
