G'Day
Picked up a Philips TV on the weekend.
There is a sticker on the chassis marked C2109.044, still looking for the model number.
Trying to work out the age of the set.
It is a mangnalux, and a console style, I was thinking 1960 - 61
I will send Brad a few pictures, to put up tonight.
Cheers
Peter

There were basically only 3 chassis types by Philips through the 60s. If you can say how many PCBs it has, zero, 2 or 1, that pretty much identifies the chassis series. The 2 PCB chassis had the most variations, it may have 2 or 3 stages of VIF and valves or transistors in the sound IF. The single large PCB chassis used the decal series of valves and was pretty much unchanged through its run.
I should be able to find a matching circuit for you given a close-up of the chassis.

Thanks Ian.
I didn't get a good look at it on the weekend, and the evenings have been busy, or I have fallen asleep on the lounge chair, mostly the second one.
will see if I can have a good look at it and take a few pictures, this evening.
It looks like Vintage Pete's 1957 cabinet, that was in the cabinet restoration postings, only his is a lowboy and the one I have is a console.
having said that, the channel selector on the side doesn't have the channel numbers, there is a small window, below the crt, that displays the channel number.

Oh, that makes it 50's then, older than I thought. Probably similar to Pete's, 21 inch 90 degree.
You want a schematic? There were only a few small changes during the 90 degree chassis runs.

G'Day Ian.
I guess it looks around that vintage.
I sent some pic's to Brad, earlier in the week, so hopefully he will post them when he gets some time.
I need to charge up the SLR, the pic's from the phone are not all that good..
If you have a circuit, I would not so no to it.
It all looks complete apart from the missing HT Anode lead and cap.
Still could not find a model number.

The console version of Vintage Petes 21TT307 is a 21CT308, 1958 vintage.
There are quite a few models with the channel indicator window in the mask below the CRT. So I guess we'll just await the pictures to confirm exactly which model it is.

In that case it could be a model 21CT320, which is very similar in appearance to the 21CT308.
The CRT type you are referring to is a 21CBP4 or 21CBP4A. The original would of been a AW53-80. The other number is a Philips part code.

Mono, I think you have nailed it.
I had a look on Radiomuseum and there is a picture for the 21CT320 and it looks like it.
the valve line up is the same.
The CRT is 21CBP4.
Many thanks.

Couple of mistakes in that valve list..
2nd sound IF 6BX8 should be 2nd sound IF 6BX6
Horiz out 6BX6 should be Horiz osc 6BX6

21CT320 is correct for the schematic. Last of the 90 degree chassis.
CRT looks like an early 70s Thomas replacement and on that basis might well be OK.
Similar, but not quite the same, as the chassis I did for Pete. Has improved NT3001 tuner using 6ES8, 6BY7 1st VIF IF and 6BX6 in a much improved hor osc circuit as the main differences.
I have the schematic if you need it.

Sorry about the mix up in the valve list Robbert.
Hand written, I should have checked with the pictures I took.
Thanks for the info Ian.
I will check the CRT for emission, and see if it is going to be any good.
I won't say no to a schematic, there is no hurry for it, it maybe a be a few months, until I get around to dismantling it.

Hey Ian, what is that metal doofangle on the left side of the chassis just above the ARTSNP sticker?
Fred.
