I mentioned last night that I was lucky enough to win an Astor Baby, model AR at the last Melbourne auction for the year.

More on this here, at my soon to be relaunched personal website.

Nice site, although there's still plenty of references to forums, memberships and other things no longer relevant.

You could update the copyright date to 2019.

The Terms and Conditions refer to an ABN and a company name, both of which have been cancelled.

I like the colour scheme. Smile

Yes, it's amazing what changes in a matter of a few years. All will get an update soon.

To be honest I thought I'd have more trouble but for some reason the two that were bidding against me gave up at about the same time and I just kept my hand up.

I also wanted the R27 Radiolette that was on offer but I lost that one. I have three of them but none are restored so I guess I'll just have to get to work on that over the Christmas break.

I have this suspicion deep down that I have had one of those "babies" pass through. Something tells me that there was instability related to a grid fly lead as it had series components topside near coils.

If it is so, then I ended up putting insulation paper around them / it and ratting the engineering shed for some shim brass to cover it all with as a shield.
