G'day all. Stumbled on this great forum and thought I'd join and share my collection with you all.
I am an Aussie collector of vintage television, VCR and TV camera gear and have a lot of great vintage relics from the distant past of those categories and I have a website which features most of my collection:
Troy's Vintage Video Collection
http://troysvintagevideo.0catch.com/
The majority of my collection consists of vintage TV cameras from the 1950s to the 1990s which I have a huge variety, most of them are vidicon/saticon cameras of the 70s and 80s, I also have a couple of broadcast cameras which are the highlights of my collection, one being an ex ATN-7 Sydney Marconi MK3 image orthicon camera chain (missing lens turret) from 1956 and a 1977 RCA TK-760 plumbicon colour camera which semi works, and I have rare iconoscope and image orthicon camera tubes which I imported from USA.
My TV collection featured on my site consists of:
1959 His Masters Voice (HMV) F5-A6 B&W TV
1963 Sharp TRP-601 portable B&W TV
1969 PYE 12F-1 B&W TV
1974/75 Philips K9 Model 02 KD 654 colour TV
1970s Toshiba C-1821 colour TV
1947/48 Andrea VJ12 US imported B&W TV
The Andrea VJ12 TV is the highlight of my TV collection as it predates TV in Australia by 8 or 9 years, it is pretty much a Frankenstein set as it has no cabinet and it uses a VC140 radar tube instead of a 12LP4/12JP4 picture tube, I am in the process of restoring this TV to working order, I got that TV from John of http://cool386.tripod.com/ , he has probably the hugest collection of old TVs in Australia!!!
And I have a collection of vintage videotape recorders of the pre-VHS era such as the Philips N1500/N1700 VCR format, EIAJ standard reel-reel VTRs, Betamax VCRs and U-Matic. I am basically into recovering missing Aussie TV programs particularly 1970s Countdown episodes which ABC erased from their archives, I have made another website which goes into finding missing Countdowns in greater detail http://1970scountdown.atspace.com/ .
Lastly I make a lot of videos on my collection and have my own YouTube channel which features them along with my own camera related projects and other things http://www.youtube.com/user/troysvisualarts .
Cheers
Troy
