Same problem here. I think it was up when he first posted this, but not now it seems.

Looks like their site was taken down or they haven't paid their bills. Global 404 Error = problem with the site itself but the host server and DNS is still active.

That'll never happen here. Hopefully.

Hope this isn't just a phishing link, collecting data on visitors for future spam activity. Who promotes with no content?

Unless someone has set up a server at home and his Mum turned it off at the mains. That happened in the early days with a backyard ISP here in Canberra. Customers rang up to complain service was down, a woman answered the phone and said "Yes, and I've told him he can't switch it on again until he's finished his homework!"

I'll just delete the link if the site isn't up in two weeks. Nothing is worse than a fly-by-nighter on the Web. I have to do a review of the Service Directory too. A submission or two there needs scrapping.

I'd long forgotten about this. I'm all for a site being constantly updated because that's how sites should be, however it does pay to get it on the Web first and then once this is done the site's representative can tell the world about it.

In the meantime I've deleted his link.

I should add that I am no fan of a site advertising something for sale and not having the prices available for visitors to see. This is something for the site's owner to ponder on if there are ever plans on a launch date.

Yes and no. Wink

It's possible to install such a feature however it won't be retrospective because the table that holds member information doesn't store the last date logged in. The site has been logging all visits since 2006 (I think) and statistics including when members log in and out for the last four years (again, I think). Some information may be gettable from these logs but won't be a quick and easy job.

Update: I just did a manual search of the database and JOEJ hasn't logged in since records of that have been kept - 9th September, 2014. What took place before that we'll never know.

I wouldn't bother retrieving stuff from archives, but just set it to start recording from now.

Show a blank date if unknown. That will indicate that it's been quite some time since the last visit.

Yes, I too would like to see that feature.

It also means that you can delete zero-posters who haven't logged in for x years.
