Hi,
May I introduce myself?
I am a german collector of vintage radio & TV sets.
My special interest are early TV sets and the history about them,
the companies and the program history.
This includes, that I collect old TV guides, too.
I own early TV sets from 24 countries (Finland to Australia, but one is not old, the taiwanese).
I am proud to own 3 australian TV sets, 1956 AWA table set, 1956
Electrosound-Saba console and 1957 Astor low boy.
I hope, to find hear collectors to discuss the history of australian television.
Thanks in advance,
MonsieurTelevision (name was given by french collectors because of my hot interest in vintage TV sets!)

Welcome to the Vintage Radio forums MonsieurTelevision. I am assuming you have lots of space as many Australian televisions from the 1950s and 60s were in huge cabinets, particularly those in the 3-in-1 cabinets that included a radio, television and four-speed record player all in one unit.

One thing you will notice after you get a few of the later models from Australia is the extra three channels on the dial. The early sets included channels 1 to 10 but later models included 0 to 11 with the very unique 5A in the middle.
