I've just joined and looking forward to getting acquainted with how the forum works, I have just recently decided to learn more about basic electronics so as to be more confident in repairing and restoring radios for my chosen new hobby of early pocket Australian made if possible transistor radios. Its a new hobby and I'm starting a lot later in life than most but it helps to keep the brain working.

Welcome to the forum Wayne.
I did my apprenticeship in the late sixties and experienced all those great Australian made transistor radios first hand.
They don't take up much space to store and display.

Thanks JJ hopefully I'll be able to pick a few brains, since I am totally starting from scratch, I've been a shortwave and AM DXer for a long a time admittedly on a casual basis but never really got into the collecting and restoring side of things . What got me started was one my other distractions is collecting cigarette cards from between the wars and the one set I could never get was on radios and whilst searching online I went down the inevitable rabbit hole and landed on repairing pocket transistor radios, which has got on another quest.
