This is indeed a 6T5, the cathode sticking out of the centre of the target proves it. Other indicator valves of the time have a cap over the cathode.

How hard is it to find magic eye tubes these days NOS?
I recently acquired my first radio which actually utilises one. It's a Hotpoint-bandmaster 459ME.
6U5 evidently. The one it has seems like it's long in the tooth and could do with a replacement.

6G5 is equivalent, and 6E5 and CV504 can be made to work, as can some others, such as the 12V filament 1629, see
https://vintage-radio.com.au/default.asp?f=2&th=113#634

Will see what I have got but requires a bit of digging so might take a few days.

The best I can do is CV1103 which is an octal equivalent with 12.6V filament.
The 6U5/6G5 examples I have are very tired.

Hey STC,

If otherwise the eye tube is to similar spec of the original I've got, I'd be interested. That voltage doubler circuit should do the trick for the filament.
My email isn't hidden so you can email me, as I don't check on here too often.

I have never actually used a CV1103, but both it and 6U5/6G5 require -22V for maximum deflection, so on that basis I think that they are equivalent. Hopefully someone here has practical experience of these two valves.
