In my early retirement I decided to give back to the community. Originally trained in electronics back in the late 70s, I left it behind as a profession, except to dabble occasionally from a hobby perspective. Of recent times I began repairing flat screen TVs to save them from landfill and we set up the Bega Remakery to encourage people in our community to bring their defective electronics/electrical gear to me and I'd have a go at fixing it. I use Badcaps Forum as an excellent source of information for modern electronics. Of recent times we've started to get a bit of vintage electronics gear though the Remakery. I signed up to this Forum in the hope I can get similar expert advice.

As a bit trivia, I actually worked for AWA for a few years as their National Training Manager. By then it was sadly but a faded memory of the grand old days of the company. It effectively went out of business a few years after I moved on.

Welcome to V-R.

When I tell young people today how much stuff AWA used to make locally, they are amazed.

Welcome Dkneyle
Nice to see new members putting up a little about themselves.
I'm ex OTCA and now doing volunteer work with Marine Rescue at Jervis Bay.
My grandfather worked in the stores in the basement of the AWA building in York Street Sydney in the 60's.
