Hello all. I'm new to vintage radio restoration. I've been motivated by a friend who has an old hand, he has a good size collection and lots of radio and TV experience.
I have aquired a Van Ruyten D31 radio from another friend and would like to restore it electrically before attacking the cabinet which I'm sure will be a challenge.
Can anyone point me in the right direction of a circuit diagram?

Welcome to the site.

I can't find any Van Ruyten schematics in the usual places. It's not a brand that's discussed much.

"Tilbury & Lewis Pty Ltd; of 51 Wangaratta St, Richmond, Melbourne manufactured "Van Ruyten" brand radios and other electrical items. They manufactured electrical equipment such as inverters [from the 1930s] until the 1960s."

According to the Mingay's I.F. guide the D31 is a 1936, 6 valve vibrator console. I.F. 175kHz. No other details offered.

Radiomuseum lists its valve line-up as : 34 1C6 34 1B5 30 19, and notes that it's a 6 volt set.
