Thought it about time I introduced myself having been on and off this forum for the past year or three.
I'm a ham radio op (VK2GZ) but have had no formal training in electronics other than learning for my licence.
I became fascinated in old-style radio and have collected/repaired about half a dozen sets. I love vintage wireless as you can almost see the electrons flowing through the components!
I've also collected a few old books on the subject and I'm enjoying the challenge of learning how it all works.
Thanks for setting up this forum, Brad. My only suggestion is to have some kind of email alert that lets you know if someone has responded to your post.
Best regards
Laurie
(PS: Hope some of you may be amused by my Avatar, an old pic I found somewhere on the net)

G'day Laurie,

Yes, this is a much sought after feature and will hopefully be here before Christmas, along with two others I am working on at the moment.

Your avatar is a good'un. I wish more members had them because they do make the place look better.

A valve a day keeps the transistor away...
