I have amassed a fair collection of old radio's, cellphones and other colonial stuff (much to my wife's dismay) especially recently as my older relatives are starting to pass on.

My intention is not to sell, I just like old items from 1950's and older. I like to tinker and have recently completed getting the magic eye of a Phillips B5Z17A going with tube from Russia and a resistor change.

My ultimate aim once I have learn a bit more is to get a old Radion going as it is in quite a state and missing a valve.

Welcome to the forums.

...much to my wife's dismay

You aren't alone there. The general consensus is that if one radio starts becoming a collection of them then the better half will want them somewhere else.

My intention is not to sell...

Yep, you stick to your guns. Smile

A valve a day keeps the transistor away...

Any pics and valve info?
