Hi there,
My name is Karen and I have recently fallen in love with a couple of radiograms. The first is an HMV 1951 already lovingly restored and bought off ebay for $100. I bought it as a 21st birthday present for my son, but the minute I ran my hand over it and imagined all my old records blasting out of it I knew I had to have one too.
Several weeks later I am the almost proud owner of a 1952 Astor radiogram. Unfortunately, although we did briefly get to listen to a couple of records, there are obviously some problems. Probably the biggest is needing a good clean!
Anyway, I have heard (and thought I could remember reading somewhere) about a fellow on the Central Coast (an older bloke) who did restorations. I was wondering if anyone knows of whom I am seeking???
I have no idea about the condition of the radio, and although it would be nice, I dont mind if I cant get that working any time soon(if at all). But I want the record player working so bad. Its getting quite frustrating with my old record collection all out of mothballs with no-where to go.....round & round.

If anyone can point me in the right direction to get my baby spinning again I would be very grateful. I have found people on line in Sydney that could do the job, but was trying to find someone closer to home.
Well, I'll be eagerly waiting for any info and polishing my discs. Karen.

Hi Karen,

I am sure you may find someone over there, but if you don't , I restore these units and put in a Ipod plug as well. Unfortunately the radio section and amp are as one and you will need that going to get the record player working.

Only catch is I am in WA. I have several clients in Melbourne that send me there items. So if you want you send me all the insides and speaker and I can do it for you.

Cheers
Vic
