Hey guys,

I recently purchased a Ferris model 134 picnic radio in remarkably good condition for its age and having just been mailed from Bendigo to California.

I've been able to find the circuit diagram and am definitely looking at repairing some aged/damaged wires as well as replacing the speaker (it's dead). So I'm most curious about what resources are out there for this model (it's a mark 1, btw).

Thanks!

Welcome to the forum.

That's a long trip for an old Ferris to make. I don't do car radios, but Googling around I think the 134 of 1959 was the first transistorised Ferris radio?

Kevin Chant's site has data for that model, here:

That's right. It is their first transistorised radio and I have visited Kevin's site. In fact, that's where I was able to source the circuit diagram.

I've since found a speaker that will fit inside the unit (not a perfect match, but it'll work) as this week I'm going to try and make time to solder in some new wires as well as update the antenna and speaker connections on the carriage.
