I'm new to the forum, and new to vintage radio. I had fond memories of valve radios from my childhood, and decided to get one to listen to while I work.
The first valve radio I owned (growing up in Canada) was a Farnsworth GK 267 (1947), inherited from my mother:

and I've just bought a Mullard MAS281:

although I'm currently having it repaired. I did a lot of DX-ing in my youth, and hope to do more on LW, MW and SW in the UK...

Welcome to the forum. Those Farnsworth sets are very attractive. Old radios are very evocative of our early years.

The Mullard looks familiar, but then I find that with most Mullard/Philps sets. I don't know if we had that particular model in Oz as I can't find any reference to it in my files. But I do note online that it's apparently the Philips model 170A chassis in a wooden case.
