Hi.
Can you please let me know the model number and is it push button or rotary tune. I am after an early 1970s AWA set.
Hopefully this is one that I am after.
Cheers.

It will be push-button tuning. And VHF/UHF.
I bought one of these as my first colour set. It was an ex-Canberra TV Rental set.
I bought it because it had UHF even though we didn't have UHF in Canberra at that stage (but I knew we would eventually) and the push-button tuner so you could set any button to any channel. Made it easy to change channels.
Interestingly, I also discovered that the TV was designed to have an optional remote control. So the volume control was via a DC level controlled by the volume pot. This made it possible for me to design a "remote" volume by way of a long cable to a slider pot mounted in a small metal box by my favourite viewing chair. Worked well (as did the set ) for many years.
But they had a fatal flaw. The PCB's (circuit boards) were mounted vertically, so dust would accumulate on the connectors and with heating and cooling, would work its way into the connector. Easy fix, if you know what the problem is. They did fit sponge sections along the PCBs to prevent dust entry but that would rot away and the sponge debris would find its way into the connectors!
*** For anyone who is interested I have a heap of spare PCBs and bits for this model set. Email me if you want anything.
