Was poking around their web site, and noticed in the Linear Amplifier section (of all places), that they have a bunch of valves for sale at $9 each.

Valve types are: 1B3GT, 5AS4, 6AV6, 6AW8A, 6BL8, 6BX6, 6CB6A, 6CK6, 6DQ6A, 6DT6, 6DX6, 6EH7, 6EJ7, 6U9, 6X9

About halfway down this page: http://www.andrewscom.com.au/linear-amplifiers

They are at Greystanes (Sydney). Address and phone numbers at the bottom of the page.

EDIT: They also have some transmitter types, for around $99 each, same page.

Valve types: 12BY7A, 6146B, 6146W, 811A, 572B.

I think the 12BY7A is way overpriced, seeing as they used to be found in old TV sets (video output valve I think), but the others seem reasonable.

Evatco would have 12BY7a's for sure and a lot cheaper. The 12BY7a was used in Kenwood TS520/820 as an oscillator/driver.

Quite a few home brewed amateur transmitters during the 50s, 60's used them as well.

Somewhat common sort of valve and they are about.

$99.00 from Andrews is plain outrageous. Must be wrapped in gold foil.

He underestimates the intelligence of his customers.

12BY7A at $99 they have to be joking - more like $9.99 - some of the big shops are crazy as to what they charge.
