Yes I've found them to be excellent, especially for TV "tubes".

Bought a valve guitar amp kit for my adult son for Christmas from them. It is a vintage Marshall clone and top notch quality. We'll finally build it this weekend. Two year old grandson will help no doubt!

GTC, this one:

They had a deal going on these before Christmas.

We didn't end up doing it this weekend, deferred to next weekend. Grandkids both have colds. Stay clear! Little kids seem to spread the most pernicious germs!

Nice kit. Quite a few hours work in that.

Takes me back to 1969 when I built the 60W EA guitar amp for a school mate. I arranged for another mate to build the cabinet.

Likewise GTC, but in my case it was 1965. It was for the late John English, actually. I forget who made the case but it wasn't me!

A few years back I fixed a similar RTV&H guitar amp for a friend who'd bought it on Ebay. It just needed a new pair of 6DQ6s. the replacement of a shorted bridge diode and the neon in the tremolo cct replaced with a LED. He's very pleased with it, lots of nice musical even harmonics when driven hard. I've always said valve amplifiers are musical instruments! If you want perfection, use mosfets....

The Tube Depot kit has the case already made. Nice job too. The under chassis wiring uses a fibreglass pin board, you have to stake the pins in first. Should look very neat when it's finished.

Interestingly, the mate in question played guitar in the band for the Harry Miller production of JC Superstar, in which Jon English played Judas.

Well Adam and I finally got around to building the amp kit a couple of weeks after my last post.

2 year old grandson helped with drilling the holes in the turret board. I'll send Brad a picture.
This picture wasn't set up, he just grabbed his toy drill, came out and helped Dad!

Amp was finished about 2AM that night. Looks and sounds great. Recommended.
