Hello all, I bought this old Astor mini radiogram at a garage sale in Ryde on the week end. It's mostly working but I'm after the schematic for it.

The model number is G9JK
The green transfer number is 12784
The number on the chassis is E 51440

No valves here, it's about 1966
If you have a schematic for this I would appreciate it please.
Bed time reading haha,
Thank you pete

Hi G,,perfect !,, thats the one I'm after , dont know why my model number ends in a K ? But thats it. Its pretty good really except, who ever was working on it has poured so much light oil through the turntable the point box was full of oil,, cleaned that all out and did the points with metho and she fired up with sound , its a little down on the left speaker like all the radiograms I have haha,,anyway I cleaned the pots and turned the radio on only to find there was crappy talk back on every station. The other thing I had to replace was the fibre washer on the idler wheel as it had swollen up from the amount of oil on it.

Thanks for that link G, I'm only on tablet at the moment and some sites just cant cope with a tablet,
Pete

Strange symbols for transistors in that schematic. Never seen ones like that before... Smile

Your Astor is either a model G9J or G9K. The reason why it is marked G9JK is because both models use the same chassis. The only differences are is that the G9J is a vinyl covered table model with a carry handle. The G9K is the same style, but with a timber finish and is on legs.

Yes Wa2ise, Astor used to draw them that way in the early days. So did RTV&H magazine as I recall. Not sure where it came from.....

A diode with an extra connection?

Astor drew transistor symbols in that odd way from their first transistor model in 1958 until 1966.

The G9J dates from 1964 & G9K 1965. The G9K schematic shows the output transistor types (AT128) overprinted on the sheet from the original AC128 on the G9J schematic. Transistor type AT128 are Astors own Anodeon brand & is equivalent to the Philips AC128.

Hi all ,,thank you for the imput,
Yes the chassis is stamped JK,,, this one is a timber model, its nice but no valves and I like valve models,, no valves always sounds like their singing into a bucket to me.
I have a few of these type small little radiograms ,i will probably move this one on and just keep my valve models.

But its a nice old thing just the same. I will post a pic when I get time.
Pete
