Hello
Your radio is a 1941 model according to
http://hws.org.au/RadioHistory/manufacturers/STC.htm
I have the circuit as 1941 is one of the few AORSMs that I have. Will scan and email tomorrow.

Hello
Circuit sent about 3pm.

The only other reference that I have is from Steve Savell's "Australian Vintage Radio - What's it worth - STC Radio -History & Price Guide - 1930 - 1942" published in 2014 which priced both the mantel (X) and console (H) at $150+.
Prices have dropped recently, though the mantel would hold its value better than the console.

Steve comments that STC made many STC 4 valve mantels in 1941, as resources were diverted from the larger models to the war effort. Many were battery models, presumably good for soldiers to carry around.

Is yours a mantel or a console? Steve doesn't have a photo of the 413 in his histories, so if you could send in a photo it would be of interest, as he does have a photo of a mantel captioned "STC 400 series 1940...", which may be the same cabinet.

Well I have had a little look at this set and the o/p transformer is OK but the electrodynamic speaker is unserviceable due to the speaker coil

be jammed solid . Everything is rivited on this unit

The protective cover is missing and it would appear that the coil is cooked and burnt.

I beleive it is a 6" STC speaker at 4 ohms( working on the o/p transformer impedance / turns ratio etc)

If anyone has one to sell I could well be interested, otherwise I might have to use the magnet coil/choke and a permanent magnet speaker.

I think I read that some car speakers are 6" and 4 ohms.

Please email me with what you have.
