Hi Folks,
I'm looking for a channel selector knob for a vintage Kriesler B&W TV set.
I couldn't find a model on it anywhere and have asked Brad if he would mind uploading a pic of the front of the set for me.
Hopefully someone can assist with a replacement knob.
Thanks in advance
Scott

It's probably a 79-4 chassis. Long chassis with black EHT box about 2/3 along? 21" 110 degree CRT.
It's a 1961 credit squeeze poverty model!
The 79-2 I have has similar styling but it's all die-cast metal, including the knobs. No plastic at all. The CSK screws on, different to yours. Otherwise I could cast you a replica in epoxy.
That might still be the go. Cast it, then drill a hole to fit the brass D sleeve. Then cut a washer slot to engage with the flat on the brass sleeve.
If you don't do any better than that elsewhere the offer's open.

It is the last of the rounded screens Kriesler models from 1960. Can't tell from the picture, but probably a 121-16, 121-17 or 121-24 using a 79-3 chassis.
A full frontal shot will help to identify exact model.

I'll defer to your greater knowledge, but as I recall the 79-3 was a short-lived chassis and carried forward the die-cast front panels from the 79-2. I definitely recall seeing 21" CRTs with the 79-4 chassis.
But it was a long time ago and I could be wrong....

It is a Magi-Matic Fine Line Deluxe Console Super Fringe (what a mouthful!) model 121-24 with a 79-3 chassis. It dates from about 1960 & is the last of the 21" models made by Kriesler.
There is a 23" version, model 121-24A. This model, apart from the CRT, is virtually identical.

Thanks, my memory is defective. Kriesler would often carry over a cabinet style to a new chassis so it got a bit complicated.
But I do now remember what the missing CSK looked like. It was a slightly smaller than the earlier die-cast type, with a coffee-coloured centre knob and a clear plastic skirt, back-screened in grey, numerals in white.
If you can borrow one, my offer of cloning it in clear epoxy still stands. You'll need to drill and paint it yourself though, my tools, fine motor skills and patience don't extend to that.

Hi Ian,
Thanks for that - So far I had no luck in locating one to even borrow - I don't even know what the correct one looks like.
Hopefully someone here ca assist with either the right one, or one that will fit and do the job.
Cheers

That channel selector knob is very similar to the one on my parents Krielser TV back in the 1960s. Our set was very similar in design to the one pictured by Scotty, apart from the controls section.
There was a fine tuning ring behind the channel selector.
The knob broke off and whichever of us kids hid the knob controlled what channel would be watched -- until I got out my multigrips.
