Hi Everyone,
I am after 4 and/or 5 pin octal plugs.
I have a few valve amplifiers that use them as outputs and inputs
and wanting to keep them original, make up cables to suit.

Thanks all

Josh

Strictly speaking 'octal' sockets have 8 pins.

Are the sockets you are trying to match standard valve types, or do they have special spacing?

If no one here comes to the party, then you can find regular 4 and 5 pin valve sockets on eBay. Examples:

Surplus Sales in USA has just about everything, but there's a minimum order quantity and shipping to consider:

Edit: I note you say plugs. The plugs are extremely hard to find these days. Leslie speakers used 4 and 5 pin plugs and sockets made by Amphenol, but not sure if they are match your required pin spacings. Scroll down this page:

The plug used by an 80 Rectifier is a UX-4 The European one is slightly different. That also applies to the American radial 5 pin.

For the plugs, any valve with a five or four-pin base can be used as a plug once it is no longer useable as a valve. Careful removing the glass!

In the case of an octal if you drill a hole in the skirt above each pin, near the top, you can feed wire into the holes to retain a disc. With the aid of a wire tie that will secure the cable.

Disc (with hole for cable) and cable fitted, first then, retaining wire. A punch for making automotive (& other) gaskets will prove useful.

You can do similar with the others.

Thanks all, I might see what I have in dud valves with 4 and 5 pin bases, or if anyone
has got any I would appreciate it.
Thanks Again
Josh
