I've just acquired a BWD model 420 CRO and would like to get a circuit and/or manual. I haven't had any luck finding anything on the web so far. Does anyone have a copy or can point me ion the right direction. Its a very well built dual channel cro using 26 valves.

I've found info on BWD to be very scarce, which is a shame for a company that made a range of very good gear.

Kevin Chant's site has some stuff, but alas not for the 420.

Are you sure it is a model 420? I'm a fan of BWD test equipment and most of the early CRO's use the 500 model number series.

Can you post some pictures of the CRO? It may help to identify what it is. As GTC has mentioned, BWD manuals are very hard to find.

Hi TV Collector,

I will send a picture to Brad for uploading. I can find info for models starting with 500, but it is certainly a model 420. Maybe you will recognise it as similar to another model. It is very original, although a bit knocked around. It doesn't appear to have ever had repairs. I can take some internal pics - maybe over the weekend if that would help identify it.

You would think such a well known and long-running business would have a good selection of data still available?

Yes, but unfortunately it's not the case.

The BWD assets were purchased by McVan Instruments, currently part of the Observator B.V. group of the Netherlands.

Thanks for the picture, it has helped.

I'd forgotten about the very early valve BWD CRO's. From the limited information available, the 301 and 302 were single trace valve models, while the 410 and 420 were dual trace valve CRO's.

Sadly, I have not seen any information for the early valve BWD CRO's, only the solid state ones. McVan Instruments may be able to help though I doubt it. I've been told that they are not very helpful in regards to obsolete BWD information.
