I have a quantity of speaker transformers that are actually PA type 100v line matching transformers. I've used them successfully in battery radios, they are Japanese made, very slightly smaller than your original and have taps that match your requirement.

I know they are not ideal as they lack an air gap but they seem to work just fine. The extra current drawn by a mains powered radio's output valve might be a problem saturating the core though.

Would you like to try one anyway?

I have a couple of transformers out of radiograms.
They are single ended 6M5's which I think are about 7500 ohms
and run 2 ohm speakers.
might do at a pinch if nothing else comes up.

I have a couple of transformers that were professionally rewound, essentially brand new except for the iron. They are 5000 / 3.7 ohms, one is 6.8 cm and the other 7.5 cm mounting hole centres.

Email me if either is of interest.

Thanks guys, appreciate the responses.
In the end I wound a new primary myself, up and running.

That said, I have two other radios with the same issue, I'll keep you in mind when the time comes.

Thanks again.
