Hi all,

I have the above for sale. Don't really know too much about them.

This is the ebay link to it. I take you guys as experts so what should I aim for or expect?

http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/191823407457

Regards
Scott

They were a popular model in the 1960s. I think about 1 in 8 televisions was a HMV of one sort or another and that cabinet style was their most popular, with a speaker either side of the screen.

I was thinking about turning it into a whisky cabinet if anyone just wants the insides for spare parts or something.

Thanks

I am not necessarily looking for the price I have listed on ebay. I would just like something for it. Or would anyone be interested in harvesting parts from it if I kept the cabinet?

Cheers

If you had a lower starting price you may have more luck trying to sell the TV. Sets from this era are not worth much at the moment.

If you do decide to keep the cabinet, I would be interested in saving the left over parts.

Agree with TV Collector. If there's going to be any bidding for it, you want to start low, even at 99 cents -- those are the auctions that attract bids. (I think you'll find that eBay has a seller fee waiver or discount or something if you start at 99 cents.)

Alternatively, put a Buy It Now price on it at what you really want for it.

I have lowered it to $50 which I would happily take. Any less and I will make a whisky cabinet. Once this auction runs out I will relist starting a 1c and see what happens.

Hi TV Collector. I shall keep you posted.
