These seem to be very scarce. Does anyone know where I can get one? Or do you have one to spare?

Have you joined the HRSA yet? When you do, you'll get member access to the valve bank, which can be first resort or last resort, depending.

What you may find here is that the fixers realise the shortage and won't part with their prize.

ECH35 and 6A8, 6K8 will often work, but SW is normally 6J8 after it was introduced & superseded 6A8 in that role.

Yeah I'm guessing that is the case. I haven't even proven it to be faulty yet but just putting feelers out lol.

My experience is that whilst valves do fail & some more than others; Testing them, where possible, is a good idea (even if it's in another set, that uses that type), but it is more common to find the components around the valve to be the problem, so it is no use condemning a valve until you have proven all that surrounds it.

It was definetly the Valve. A good old mate gave me a spare and the old girl has not skipped a beat since. I did however proceed to get some spares thanks to Clive Durham for one and I found some new old stock with Evatco they charged me 30 bucks each and I think thats money well spent. I suggest you look there for any NOS as they will try to find them for you and postage is reasonable.
