Nothing too special here. All chassis are incomplete in one way or another but are none-the-less a potential supply of good parts.

On offer is a job lot including an Astor KK (I think) tablegram chassis. The chassis appears complete but there is a small crack in the dial scale; 3 x AWA Radiolette chassis, 2 x 516M and 1 x 500M, all are incomplete but one has a mint condition speaker (rare for this model despite its popularity) and the two 516s have good mains transformers. There is also a huge and heavy ten valve chassis for the mighty AWA Radiola 805G. This chassis is minus its dial glass and a few valves but is otherwise complete. It requires restoration and the repair of an intermittent fault. It could also be used for spares for a lucky collector who already owns one of these juggernauts. There's also three Bakelite cabinets, one for an AWA hall speaker - just needs a driver and a grille cloth; A cabinet for a Healing 402B? which is in good nick but does have two 2mm holes drilled in the top near the back which could easily be patched; and a cabinet for an AWA Radiola 524M. It's in good nick but does have a repairable and almost indiscernible crack on the top. If you have a chassis for this radio and just need a cabinet then this one would be quite suitable. Price: $200 for the lot.

Also on offer are the following radios, each available separately:-

An Airzone timber radio minus it's speaker and a couple of valves. If you own a suitable speaker and love restoring the electronics then this radio has a lot of potential. Price $100.

An HMV battery set of around 1946. This radio is minus the loudspeaker but could be used in a restoration on a radio with a battered cabinet. The chassis and dial scale are in good order but there's a few chips and nicks in the grille, dial escutcheon and the bars - all classic problems with this model. Price: $100.

Sale of spare chassis and cabinets

A Howard 6 valve radio of US origin. This is complete and in remarkable condition but requires the usual restoration of the electronics before it can be operated safely, otherwise just sit it on your display shelf and admire it. It has a similar gothic speaker grille to the renowned AWA Radiolette R24 of 1934 so the Howard would be from a similar time. Price $300.

Sale of spare chassis and cabinets

Lastly, a King Radio coffin radio of US origin, from around 1928. This set is a six valver and has its original breadboard, tuning gang, rheostat and the cabinet is in very good condition for its age. It runs on A, B and C batteries. The circuit needs a rebuild though and some minor parts are missing. Price: $100.

I will be offering these on Ebay as well so if you want anything then get in quick because once the Ebay auctions end I am obliged to complete the transactions.

All items either too big, too numerous or too heavy to post. Pickup only from my storage lockup in Gladesville, NSW at a mutually agreeable time.

A valve a day keeps the transistor away...
