Hi All,

Anyone know where I can get a copy of the Australian Official Radio Service Manuals? I am guessing the book version is a pretty rare thing these days as a full set, but I believe that there are digital versions around on CD?

Regards,

Damien

I have that on CD. There are often adds in HRSA "Radio Waves" & I think "Silicon Chip" Mag. I would thing that a search engine should find it.

I do hope it has been modified from the version I have? Otherwise you will have to download LinAORSM to get it to run on Windows 8.

Thanks for the update guys. Perfect timing on eBay!

I had a look and it appears a special viewer is needed to use the CD. I use Mac gear at home and can't find a port of the LAORSM that might work on Mac. Any one know?

Regards,

Damien

Otherwise you will have to download LinAORSM to get it to run on Windows 8.

From the eBay ad: "For WIN 7 and 8 users, inc previous platforms,It is highly recommended using the free superior LINUX viewer, for more information and free download, on purchase."

work on Mac. Any one know?

If no answer forthcoming here, would suggest contacting the eBay seller about that.

There is a website related to the CD which has the LinAORSM download: It may have the info?

Thanks All,

Yes have contacted the eBay seller and waiting for a response.

Also found the LinAORSM site and couldn't see any Mac info, so sent the developer an email.

I will wait and see what I hear back.

I have both the full set of fourteen volumes, and the C.D. version.
I can't get my C.D. to work on windows 7. I performed the patch on my old XP computer but was not happy with the results.

I packed the fourteen manuals into a box last time I moved house twenty years ago and hadn't looked at them again until tonight. I'm rarely ever asked to repair old valve sets anymore. At least I still have some old televisions awaiting attention. Like most others, work and family use most of my time.

Wayne.

Just found out that LinAORSM doesn't work on a Mac. Bummer.

Apparently it "might" work under WINE, so will have to investigate that. Not something I have tried before.

Hey Wayne, you might just need a new key to run under Windows 7? I am only guessing, just going by a comment on the eBay link (above from MonochromeTV).

Nice to have the books though! Let me know if you every get bored of them Smile

Regards,

Damien

Hi Damien
I have copies of the AORSM, vol 4, 1940-41 and vol 8, 1949 surplus to requirements if you wish to start collecting the series.
Volume 4 is in quite good condition while vol 8 has a couple of loose pages but otherwise intact.
You can have the pair for $50 including post. Please email me if you are interested.
Harold

Hi Harold,

Thanks for that, but I am really looking for volumes 1 and 2 at the moment. I don't know if I will get any others just yet. Thanks for the offer though.

Regards,

Damien

G'day Damien,

Send me an email and I'll discuss a method of reading this CD without using the supplied software.

Cheers, Graham...
