Do you, like me, have many new, unused, ic's lying about?
Today I needed a particular I.C. An (AN7000) and had to look through a great many to try find whether or not I had the one for which I was looking.
The search has made me determined to catalogue all of my ic's.
There are so many that I will never need to use.
I shall list them all in a word document. Spread sheets are very reluctant to create lists (for me).I shall then make the list available to all and charge a small amount for any I.C. to anyone needing one.
I shall try to include in my list the function of the ic's.
I implore all the ex-technicians to also list their unused parts. Once a search says that a part is no longer available, the radio, TV, is likely to be junked. Lets make our dead stock available to those who were not around when the parts were available, and who are not able to source them now.
Oh. And as for valves, over the last fifty years, I have sold hundreds, thrown out hundreds, and still have hundreds in the ceiling of my house.
So unless you need something like a 6CJ6, or Compactatrons, or unusual voltage versions of valves, ask someone else.
I hope to post the list on this site if permitted. I don't wish to become wealthy, I just want to see the ic's used to revive historic electronic equipment.
While talking of valves, I need a ZM 1000 Nixie tube for a Heathkit Digital Multimeter.

Posting such lists is quite appropriate.
I am happy to convert it to PDF and host it here. Just e-mail through anything you want uploaded.

A valve a day keeps the transistor away...

I've been able to find out-of-production chips on auction sites like ebay. Did a search there, someone in Germany wants $35 for one AN7000 (looks like a 28 pin dip with a heat sink on one end), someone else in Germany wants $26. Many sellers in China. You may have a web shop like Jameco http://www.jameco.com in Australia.
And I've used web sites like http://www.digchip.com/ to get datasheets.

It's alright, I don't need that I.C. now. The fault turned out to be the loopstick antenna having five out of six connections broken. Didn't I have fun working out the connections to that one? One winding was even connected reverse phase to the other two windings.
The circuitry was a little unusual in that the oscillator signal went nowhere near the antenna, causing the appearance of being completely dead. Marantz Model 1515.
